How to Register

Register for races on LiveLaps, get your membership or day pass, and find out how to volunteer, coach or join a school.

  1. Get a membership or day pass

Park use is for members only. Choose a membership or a day pass online; waivers must be signed before riding anywhere on the property.

  2. Pick an event on LiveLaps

Open the events page, choose the race and register with your LiveLaps account. Your account keeps your rider details, so entering the next round is quick.

  3. Get your MRC licence for VIMX races

VIMX runs under MRC rules. All riders must be registered trackside and have a 2026 MRC membership to practice or race.

  4. Choose your class

Choose the class you wish to run all year to accumulate Overall Series points. See the classes page. Club races allow one class per racer.

  5. Complete registration and waivers in time

For NMA Club Races, registration and waivers must be completed no later than Saturday 9:00 AM, and you must hold an NMA membership.

VIMX trackside pre-registration

The VIMX series also accepts pre-registration through Trackside. Prefer LiveLaps where the event is listed on this site.

We need your help: volunteer

In order to host events like races, learn to ride days and more, NMA needs volunteers. Without the help these events are impossible. Select all of the positions you would be comfortable helping out with. Training is provided, so do not be afraid to try something new. If you do not hear from us, we have filled the positions for that specific event and will reach out another time.

Flaggers warn other riders on the motocross track of any obstacles they may encounter. This is a high paced job where the safety of participants relies on your keen attention and swift response.

Other positions include the gate. Fill out the flagging and race staff sign up form to see the full list, or email us to help out at the track.

MX coaching and schools

Vancouver Island is home to some very talented and successful pro MX racers. Many are currently active racers and some have retired from competition. Each of the coaches below may be available for private and group training at one of our Island tracks. Throughout the season MX schools are also periodically held; follow us on social media for announcements. Non-members at Wastelands must have a day pass for training and coaching sessions.

  • Joey Parkes: 250-668-6027
  • Dusty Klatt: 250-204-2400
  • Matt Young

There are currently no scheduled schools or coaching. In 2024 the Small Wheel MX School (50cc to 85cc bikes) and Big Wheel MX School (125cc to 450cc bikes) were $75 per rider at Weigles Road. Friday Night Coaching has a sign up form.
